Personalised Children’s Party Stationery

kidstagsnew1

Hello! It’s been a good day so far today. The sun is finally shining in Somerset (after what feels like weeks of rain) and I’ve just launched a new product. I love designing stationery, particularly Children’s stationery as I feel it allows me to be extra playful with my designs. All of my designs derive from hand drawing, later to be skilfully manipulated on the computer, printed, photographed and listed on my two online shops (Etsy and Notonthehighstreet). There is only one person employed at Rosefinch Studio (good old me), meaning it can often take some time for new products to be launched.

These ‘Personalised Children’s Party Bag Thank You Tags’ may just be one of my most favourite products yet, I just love how pretty they are. If you’re wondering what their exact purpose is, let me explain. Typically at children’s parties, theres a tradition of giving party bags to their friends as a thank you (and for transporting left over birthday cake in of course). I thought it’d be really lovely to offer personalised gift tags complete with twine for adorning such party bags.

My party bag tags can be personalised which definitely adds a unique touch. The large number at the top of the tag represents the child’s age. There’s a sweet message underneath that (which can also be personalised), thanking their friend for celebrating their birthday party with them, followed by a ‘from’, allowing the birthday child to include their name. Each tag comes complete with twine, available in a variety of colours.

As you can see, the tags are very floral. The hearts and polkadots look very pretty surrounding the flowers and the bird seen perching on the flower cluster finishes the design off I think. My next plan is to extend my range of gift tags as I really enjoyed designing and producing these. You just don’t seem to see anything of this kind in mainstream shops, which to me, makes it very desirable as I love unique products.

What are your thoughts? I’d love to hear from you! Do you have a party coming up? If so, happy party planning and feel free to have a browse in my Etsy and Notonthehighstreet shops for personalised party products.

I’m very excited to finally reveal what I have been working on over the past few weeks. Since opening Paper Doily Party Shop in July of last year, I’ve had a huge amount of fun experimenting with different products and designs. In this time, I’ve been designing a wide range of handmade party products, which were all inspired by the amount of fun I had designing and making my own wedding decorations in April of last year.

After graduating with a Textile Design degree from Chelsea College of Art and Design several years ago, I decided that I had spent far too much time on the computer, having specialised in Digital Print Design and felt that I really wanted to re connect with the making side of things. It just so happens that within this time, I’ve really missed being creative on the computer and have decided that Paper Doily Party Shop will be moving towards beautifully illustrated stationery.

I’ve received an amazing level of support so far. Part of my stationery range was chosen to be featured at the Etsy Wedding Fair in London this weekend. I’ve also been featured in Perfect Wedding Magazine, Homemaker Magazine, Bustle and Sew Magazine and a Salt-Water Sandals campaign. I’m also gaining a lot of support from all of my lovely followers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, you as the reader and all of my customers, which I am incredibly grateful for, so thank you.

I’m feeling very positive about the change in direction and I’m looking forward to sharing the rest of my journey with you. What are your thoughts on my designs so far? Have a lovely Sunday and speak very soon!

Decorative Wooden Pegs

Paper Doily Pegs 3 pegs 5 final Paper Doily pegs 2 final

We’ve been very busy making lots of adorable pegs for our Etsy shop recently and we thought we would share! They are absolutely perfect for prettifying wedding favour bags or wrapped gifts. They would also look lovely in the home, perhaps hanging from a lovely piece of twine with your favourite photographs or artwork attached.

These pegs are just standard clothes pegs and are very easy to find in most hardware stores or supermarkets. I purchased a large pack of these from my local supermarket. I searched online for patterned washi tape and came across such an amazing selection, mainly on Etsy. The great thing about these pegs, is that you only need a very small amount of washi tape to cover them. This means that you will have lots of tape left for coordinating party crafts, should you be having a big DIY session.

I have decided to sell these in lovely packs of 10 here but if you decide to get creative yourself, then let me know. I would love to see!

A very kind reminder: Paper Doily tutorials are for personal use only. Please do not reproduce the above content for resale.

The progress of Paper Doily Party Shop (later renamed to Rosefinch Studio)

Blog929240_594396980689272_1278997932_n

We have recently received a few questions regarding Paper Doily’s progress from some of our lovely Facebook followers. It is so nice to see that people are as excited as we are, and we have taken it as a great compliment. We have been super busy at Paper Doily HQ, preparing for the launch of our Etsy shop. The studio has turned into craft central. Paper Doily will consist of two ventures. There will be an amazing selection of handmade party accessories, primarily sold through our Etsy shop. This will allow us to be super creative as we love nothing more than designing and making fabulous party products.

There will also be a larger online shop, selling an amazing array of party accessories from well known suppliers. The handmade venture is a thoroughly enjoyable process but is taking a little longer than expected… like most things! We want to ensure we have the best products available, which requires lots of planning and meticulous making! The larger online shop is scheduled to be up and running within the next 6 months, which will allow us plenty of time to source products, build the website and connect with our very highly regarded potential customers.

If you are an animal person and in the mood for a cute photograph, you will be pleased to hear that we have just welcomed Felix, the miniature poodle puppy to Paper Doily HQ. He is 15 weeks old and full of love, mischief and cuddles. Felix is another reason why our progress is a little slower than anticipated. Somebody has to provide the cuddles! He brings us a lot of joy and excitement and certainly keeps us on our toes.

We look forward to sharing the rest of our journey with you and thank you so much for reading.
